Crag features
Sport climbing crag recently developed but not as popular as the crags around Huaraz. Unlikely to find anyone climbing on it but probably worth a visit if you are visiting the ruins at Chavin.
For somewhere to stay, about 10km north, Gilberto (from Switzerland) is very friendly and is developing a campsite (Camping Tambo). His website is www.casabronce.ch and he can lend you topos for San Marcos.
