Approach notes

A 3 min walk north from Hotel Shakhter: from the sign to Shaitan Kul go over the stile but instead of following the path go staight up through the woods to the lower buttress of the ridge. The southwest ridge route starts here. For the routes on the upper butresses of the main and the subsidiary ridge, traverse right for about 50m and walk up the gully. This gully also gives easy descent from the summit.
