Crag features

A beautiful, although fairly loose, south-facing rockface, the most obvious face as you look up from the valley. Soaring 240m upwards the buttress has many routes criss-crossing its face, which can make route finding fairly difficult. It pays to be first on the route as small stones flying past is somewhat of the norm here.

Approach notes

From the Gimpel-Haus you can take the direct path (north) to Hochwiesler then continue past Hochwiesler (west) to a plaque marking Hermanns Einstieg, which marks the right-hand variant of Sudostwand.
