Perfect Roaches evening light on Judge Dread, Nth Cloud © pete wilson

Crag features

A fine outcrop, well worth finishing off the day after visiting the Roaches or Five Clouds. Excellent quality rock, if a little green early in the year. Some fine, but hard face climbs e.g. The Pillar of Judgement (E4 5c) and Judge Dread (E6 6b). Best 'easy' route is Plumb-line (VS 4c).

Approach notes

Approach the crag from below only. From the road, go though the gate and follow a track diagnolly rightwards. Go past some old gate posts and continue a few more meters to the end of a drystone wall. At this corner go straight up the hill to the crag which never seems to get any closer...
