About
Search over 24,400 crags worldwide. Users have contributed details of climbs, photos, crag location, access notes,
guidebooks, rock type, etc.
Using the search form
Name Can be any part of a crag name, ie edge
Type allows you to narrow down to only crags that contain at least one route of a specific climbing type
Location Either type in an adddress (area/postcode/country/coordinates etc), or use the button to
use
your current location. You can then set the range using the slider. The search will automatically use the best matching
address
to the location you enter. To use a different location, click the "Change Location" button underneath the search button
Rocktype will filter to crags matching the rocktype. (crags without a rocktype set will not be included)
Faces means only crags that face the direction (i.e. South) will be shown. (crags without a direction set will not be
included)
Conditions allow for the weather and/or tide conditions to be taken into account. For weather, crags that we don't have
weather data for will not be shown. Tidal filtering will also filter out any crags that are above 25m in altitude, as well as
any
crags we don't have tide data for
Containing routes means that you can find crags that have routes matching your criteria. I.e. you can try to find a
crag
with at least 10 routes that have at least 2 stars, and are between VS and E2
Visited crags Allows you to view crags that you (or one of you partners) that that person either has or hasn't visited
(using logged routes in logbook)
Using the map
Crags are clustered together, and the individual pins will be shown once zoomed in enough. Hover over a marker for more info
on a crag, then click the crag name to open the crag.
Once you have searched, you can choose to only see crags that match the search criteria, using the checkbox below the map.
If there is no limit on location (ie 20km from Hathersage), it can be quite slow to load all the markers on the map
