At UKC we are all climbers and we understand the strong urge to be outdoors as the weather is finally improving. Please proceed with caution though.

This page covers all the multi-pitch routes in and around Ailefroide village that are in the "Escalades Autour Ailefroide" guidebook. The latest guidebook is Escalades Autour d'Ailefroide (2013), which is available in the village and although it is in French it is easy to understand, has good colour topos and is an allround excellent guidebook.
Ailefroide is a beautiul village in a stunning location with multi-pitch crags in all directions.
All routes are accessible by walking from the village.
The majority of routes are bolted although some of the more recent routes require a rack as well, and some have few if any bolts. The guidebook will indicate if any gear is required for the route.
All routes and buttresses accesssible from the village, approach times vary from 2 minutes to 30 minutes. There is a small car park at the top end of the village and laybys at some other locations around the village.
