Bouldering on the beach supplements the problems scattered throughout the main climbing areas.
The closest parking to Hillside Woods bouldering is the Anstey's Cove pay parking signposted from 200m south of The Range. Walk down the obvious paved path toward the cove; hillside bouldering is located above the Anstey's Cove café, behind the old toilet block. Below mid-tide you can also access the beach bouldering from this approach.
The majority of the bouldering is best reached by following the approach as for Anstey's Cove. Take the footpath signed to Walls Hill Downs from beside The Range retail outlet. Bear right to the top of the descent path which is clearly marked 'closed' and head down past the Empire Wall to the cove.
For Hillside Sector, follow the approach for Ansteys main crag, then follow the coastal path to the right until you reach concrete steps. Drop down either before or after the steps, the entrance before the steps is easier to get down but the entrance after the steps is easier to get out.
