Crag features

The micro-crag called Cala Ximo is diminutive, but fun! It's not actually at Cala Ximo though, but by the nextdoor beach of Cala Almadraba - i.e. west of the parking spot not east. The cliff itself consists of the steep cut-out in the right side of the bay, opposite the headland parking area. There's enough madcap soloing to occupy a few hours, especially if you have your work cut out with mid 6's (the four routes give a spread from 6b to 6c). The lines are steep, and always out above water. Two words of warning: 1. there may be some spiky sea urchins present in the water here, so take care when wading about! 2. the water under the routes is not that deep so go for a swim first and check it out before you commit - if in doubt you can always bail out at the half way ledges and exit left.

Approach notes

The 'Deep Water' Rockfax guide shows arrows approaching the climbs from the beach side. There are nice slabs here swim from and watch others climbing, but for access to the routes themselves it may be easier to walk over the top of the climbs and start from the seaward side (called Punta Lisera on Google maps i.e. the left as you face in).
