Vast expanse of layered slab, giving rise to some exceptionally long, easy mountain routes; some giving over 1000ft of continuous climbing. Many routes have a serious feel due to the almost complete lack of protection and total isolation. A place for those seeking solitude or an escape from the bustle of more modern crags.
Approach directly up the hillside from the old Nant Ffrancon road. Once in the cwm the ridge opposite the slabs provides a good position from which to familiarise onself with the complex layout.
The bracken isn't as bad as it looks from the road, but beware the very soft, very wet ground between the stile and the bracken. skinne - 05/Sep/17 |
