Crag features

This area is made up of three of great crags - Cicera, Placas del Esquilleu and Puente Lebana - which offer a great election of sport routes. In addition there is the amazing Cueto Agero - an alpine-scale buttress above the village of Allende with mixed routes making for some classic outings.

Los Pegotes de Cicera offers some great multi-pitch sport climbing. The name 'Los Pegotes' refers to the embedded rocks (Pegotes) that provide a lot of the holds for climbing. The lower section has some great multi-pitch routes on it which are good for novices. Above the rock rears up and provides sustained and demanding mid-grade climbing in long two-pitch routes which require care to abseil from.

Placas del Esquilleu has loads of technical slabs from easy to desperate. It is becoming polished but it is one of the best lower-grade venues in the Hermida Gorge. Access via a wire cable bridge adds to the adventure.

Puente Lebana is a little steeper than the other areas offering more challenging routes of a different style.

Cueto Agero is one of the finest trad climbing areas in this part of the Picos de Europa. The routes are on many different walls and buttresses of great rock and often with fixed pegs or bolts where you'd really need them.
