A small collection of climbs on the southwest side of the Vuache, with beautiful views over the Savoie countryside. The rock is mainly limestone slabs, with occasional lunules and big jugs on the easier routes.
It is usual to park in the village, walk another 150m down the lane, walk steeply up the right-hand-side of a field for a short distance and then follow the small path through the forest. 10-15 minutes to the crag.
Despite the sign at the bottom, it seems the equipped routes fall just outside the Biotope reserve (where climbing is disallowed in nesting season, January-June - see discussion here http://www.camptocamp.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=171860).
Nice crag. There is a topo available on camp to camp. There are lots of lines of bolts and its quite hard to work out which route is which. In fact I'm fairly sure there are many more lines of bolts than there are routes in the guidebook or the free topo. bigbobbyking - 31/Aug/11 |
