Parking barriers have been installed since last year so parking now on tarmac road closer to settlement instead of rough track. No formal access problems as it's national park right of way but some locals possibly a bit disgruntled with volume of visitors :- 'Kein touristen hier' / 'No tourists here' spray painted on info boards and a no entry sign chained across the main path. We had no issues but worth being sensitive.
Great little crag with lovely routes. Plenty of new bolts. Facil (5c) seems to make use of an old peg in the groove. Bolts reasonably spaced (not as close as the climbing wall!) The walk in is quite a bit longer than RockFax suggests as you can no longer drive up the dirt road. Parking is at or near the corner of Avinguda Colon & Polígnon Artà (39.75473390366187, 3.3206276130115087) and Google suggests 2km & ~30mins. ivanadventure - 05/Nov/21 |

Rockfax times are completely underestimated. It took us around 40mins to the West Face.
Also sun doesn't seem to be right. We arrived at 2pm and all faces were in the sun except the West Face. After 4pm or so the West Face started to get sun (not in the morning as it says in the guidebook). To make things more confusing the names of the sectors are misleading. The West Face actually face north slightly west, sector Pasto faces west and East Face faces south slightly East. That means that the sun times are all wrong.
Bolting is spaced (3 mts or more) in most routes. Also bolts are quite rusted in most routes. Willow seems to have more modern bolting but it is rusting quickly. The three routes that I climbed were superb. Hopefully this little crag gets rebolted soon. Let's see if Rockfax pays for it ;) FerClimbs - 10/May/19 |
