Crag features

Fox Crag ilies high on the hillside, while below it, Yew Barrow Crag is a small square face, partly hidden by a large tree. Some good compact climbing. Fox Crag GR SD205918, Yew Barrow SD203918

Approach notes

See Duddon & Wrynose guidebook. Approach to Yew Barrow can be a bit bracken infested, Fox Crag less so

Crag details updated - Yew Barrow is included as a separate buttress. Prior to the new guidebook, there was some double-claiming of first ascents and confusion about the crag names
sn - 16/Sep/21
Yew Barrow crag is virtually hidden behind large tree some way below Fox - difficult and determined access in bracken but diagonal paths can help - the 2* HVS is nice rock and straightforward with adequate gear

If the bracken is high, consider somewhere else -- there is no option except bashing through it all, with all that that implies (e.g., ticks)
Jon Read - 19/Jul/21
Routes Deadwood Crack to Cul de Sac appear to be for what's called Yew Barrow Crag in the 2020 FRCC Duddon guide.
