Went to find this in May 2019 out of curiosity - in need of some serious gardening! © eddbeale

Crag features

Small slab of milstone grit left by the Gilson families quarrying operations. The crag is a 5 minute walk, west, along the edge of the wood from Curious Holes Quarry.

Paid a brief visit to the slab this week (Nov 15) and it has quickly reverted to it's mossy former state. It seems the expected hords of wannabe grit climbers missed the golden age of Gilson's Slab and if anyone wants to climb there they will need to be prepared to do a fair amount of cleaning.

August 2019, now even worse !

Approach notes

Near Leigh on Mendip.
