Crag features

This crag comprises two different sides: the relatively short south side, and the more serious and higher north face, separated by the pleasant west ridge (Westgrat). Like most routes in the Tannheimer Gebirge, the rock is a little suspect and care is needed.

The routes are generally well bolted on the harder pitches of each route, but can be rather run-out and loose on the easier pitches.

The north face routes contain over 600m of climbing and are difficult to escape, so wait for perfect weather.

Approach notes

Approach is from Nesslewängle or via the Seilbahn and Klettersteig from Grän for the south side, or by the gravel track (cyclable) from Wiesbichl for the north side.

Descent is via the Normalweg, a grade 2 scramble, which has abseil bolts for the trickiest section.

Some very loose rock around. Our party got showered from above resulting in a broken shoulder caused by a football-sized chunk from high above us. On our very first climb in the area so cut a long weekend very short indeed.
