Rocktype Grit (quarried)
Altitude 170m a.s.l

Crag features

The rock is poor quality, badly eroded in parts and loose. Care should be taken on the finishes or else ropes pre-placed. The quarry is 6 - 7m high and consists of a back wall split by a loose and dirty gulley and bounded on its right-hand side by another wall, undercut at just under half height.

Approach notes

Cars should be parked at the carpark near Wortley Top Forge (often used by fly tippers). There are four quarries in the vicinity. The first and largest is used as a store yard. The described routes are in the fourth and next largest quarry before the edge peters out. The quarries are approached by striking directly up from the carpark through much vegetation.

This crag has some potential and is better than described above when it's cleaned up it'll offer a good training crag.

There are a couple of decent boulders up the bank by roadside. Green and dirty, but interesting, occassionally loose. Didn't find access to main quarry area which might be fenced off as a scrap yard, and is guarded by a lethargic Alsatian.
