Altitude 324m a.s.l
Despite its name on the OS Map this crag, situated midway between Crookrise and Rylstone, is better known to most climbers as Crookstones. It is acomplicated broken area of scattered boulders on the south side of a steep ravine.
Very strong lines and several highballs. Plus lots of scope for new lines and previously unrecorded variations
Some of the lower boulders can be very green but lots of clean slabs and aretes dry quickly in good weather
Best in Spring, Summer and Autumn.
Take a brush
Either from the Rylstone parking or from Embsay up and over Crookrise. Around 45 minutes either way.
