Crag features

The connoisseur who is prepared to commit to the uphill approach will be rewarded with an enjoyable selection of problems, some of which are classic and well off the beaten track. The location has a commanding view of the Wharfedale valley and northern moors and is a beautiful place to climb, especially in summer when the moor is alive with insects and wildlife.

Like all north-facing bouldering venues on the moor the rocks can take a day or so to dry after rain especially in winter. The crag offers two main boulders and a couple of minor blocks that are never more than 5m high, usually with good landings.

Approach notes

Approach as for Swastika Stones from where the boulders can be seen up and to the right of the edge of the moor. From the metal fence surrounding the ancient stone carvings follow a well-trodden path westwards to the first of two parallel walls and turn uphill before crossing the wall and once through this gap, follow a small path westwards until the boulders are directly above you.
