Impressive, steep blocky schist gives climbs that look harder than they are. Often dry when all else is a washout.
Rock is generally good and well protected.
Parking is available (57.373330, -3.626669) on the A939, 5km north of Granton-on-Spey.
From there walk south on a tarmac path then through a stile, then follow a path away from the road crossing a dissused railway and up the hill.
Please check Mountaneering Scotland - Bird and Nesting updates before your visit.
Intimidatingly overhung wall with some cracking routes on it like double overhang HVS5a***, diagonal VS4c*** and the fantastic cave route HS*** - don't overestimate the low grade the exposure is well worth it! We did cave route in three pitches for the fun of it - recommended. For those of you up in the mid E grades, Huntly's wall has a stunning finish about E3 6a out over the edge of the big roof. dave - 03/May/04 |
