Facing out from the back of the geo © Oliver Gibb

Crag features

Stunning geo on the west coast of North Ronaldsay with a large north facing wall with many horizontal breaks in it max 5m high that follows the geo out into the sea. Pebble and seaweedy base to the geo with a grassy top out for most of the face. There is a large rubbish pile just to the top of the geo that used to be used for burning rubbish so please take care not to injure yourself on any of the remains of this.

Approach notes

Easy access from one of the paths leading down to beyond the dyke - easiest path would be to head to the first cross roads north of the docter's surgery and the memorial cross (if you get to a fork in the main road you have gone too far) and then follow the path from there that leads to the shore in a westerly direction. Once you are there turn right (Northwards) and walk up along the top of the shore until you reach the geo. You will see a square stone structure at the top of the face which indicates you have reached the correct geo with a rubbish pile just afterwards. Straightforward walk into the back of the geo to reach the face. Please be considerate of local farmers and islanders.

No Access Issues

None and right to roam in place but be aware of respecting the local farmers and don't park in a way as to block the road in the unlikely event you have a car with you.
