Restricted Access

Access to Badger Rock is sensitive - please approach the boulder through the gate at the corner of the field only. If coming from 'Little Font', please do not try to shorten the approach by climbing over the dry stone wall between Badger Rock and Little Font. Considerable damage to the wall has been caused here by climbers doing this and the farmer is understandably unhappy with the situation. The BMC are working with the farmer to rebuild the wall but further damage may result in access permission being withdrawn. Strictly no dogs are allowed in the field.

Lake District Bouldering (2019) P18, Lakes Bouldering (2006) P12.5, Boulder Britain (2011 & 2020) P1.5.

The classic arête on Badger Rock from sitting on the right. Start right hand in the poor pocket and left hand on the very low side pull. 6C+ if you start from the good holds in the break.

Ticklists

Lakes Bouldering 7A-7B , Lakes Boulders around V4-V7

βeta: Left toe to pull off the ground makes the start reasonable, ended up rolling with the right to the second pinch on the arete then left to the big sidepull edge out left, not sure if this is in for the grade but if it isn't the stand start seems way harder than a 5+. Also tried bumping left on the arete from the crimp on the face but couldn't quite get the break.
