Crag features
A single pitch crag with good outlook over Kirkstone pass and towards Windermere from the top. OS ref NY400085.
Situated approx 150 below and to the right of Kilnshaw Chimney.
Good rough rock abounds, however especially in the lower third so do loose flakes and blocks. Tread carefully and take care with gear placements. Two poised blocks at the top of the initial groove of Sophistry in particular are to be avoided.
Approach notes
Easy 10 minute walk from Red Screes car park at top of Kirkstone pass. Follow main path for a few minutes to where three erratics are found on top of a slab to the right of the path. Small trod runs off towards the crag from here.
