The two climbing sites of the Serra de Montejunto are situated around 4km from each other. Located on a somewhat high point and with shade until the beginning of the afternoon, the walls of Montejunto are great for the hottest days of the year, and can even be surprisingly cold when the summer northerly wind blows or when it becomes misty.

From Lisbon, take the A1 northbound to Alenquer/Carregado and then take the N1 towards Alenquer. After driving past the village, follow the road but, a few kms after, be aware of the crossroads ahead signposted to Abrigada (N1-4). From here, follow the Rua Francisca Gorjão first and then a country road to Pragança. Keep going uphill and the Montejunto Velho sector will show up on the right-hand side. For Montejunto Novo, keep going past the camping and military base signs and continue until you see the next good band.
There is a bird ban on Montejunto Velho from Jan to August. This is, apparently, contentious; but there is an enormous sign to that effect below the crag.
