The top of the largest feature around the middle valley has nice views across classic Californian hills towards Pleasanton. One of the best places to hike during the few green months of the year. Climbing is some of the better cragging in the Bay Area, but takes a bit of getting used to, simply from the point of view of reading the rock - the holds are there!
For Boy Scout Rock, head through Danville and up to the south gate of Diablo Park. About 0.5 miles after the ranger station ($10 entry), there's a small lot on the left of a sharp-ish bend to the right. 100 yards up the road is the top of Boy Scout Rock - head down to the right for the upper tier, and through to the left to the lower tier.
