The crags of Nafplio are in fantastic seaside locations. The limestone cliffs are solid and of slightly overhanging red, yellow and white rock. There are also some very compact grey slabs.
These crags in the Nafplio section are actually spread over several km of coast. Panagista, Apsida, Octopussy and Pagaki are right in town and face more or less south so are very hot. Neraki and Mythology are a couple of kms SE down the coast, but walkable from Nafplio town, are also south facing.
Karathona Bay is the next bay SE which needs a short drive to get to it. The original crag is on the south side of the curving bay and gets sun from 10am left and centre, but stays shaded until 2pm on the right, (where the routes are near the chapel). Anatoli is new (2015) crag is on north side of Karathona Bay. It gets shade from 4pm and has better quality climbing than the original crag, though the routes only go up to 6b+ in difficulty.
Kondyli is the last crag and the bay is about 10km down the coast. It only has a few routes, but they are good and stay in the shade until 5pm.
