Crag features

Perhaps Melbourne's best "local" crag. A large, mostly slabby crag in a splendid position on the main ridge of the Cathedral Ranges. Excellent rock quality adds to the appeal. Mostly multipitch routes with the odd bolt where natural protection is lacking. Two 60m ropes are required for the abseil descent. Be sure to wear tough, long sleeved clothes to defend against the prickle bushes!

Approach notes

Park at the Jawbones car park and follow the tourist track to the point where some slabby buttresses meet the trail on the right. About 50m later, a large boulder appears on the left and cairns should be visible. Follow the faint path (and further cairns) up right, battling your way through the prickle bushes to the base of the crag.
