Crag features

Parque La Huasteca is a national park situated on the outskirts of Monterrey, Mexico. Best known for the iconic mountain views of Pico Independencia, climbing here was establish back in the 1950's with bold ascents by Mexican legend Juan De Dios.

The park is home to hundreds of routes of all styles and dozens of virgin big walls up to 500m tall.

Approach notes

There are always police at the entrance to the park who breathalise drivers on the weekend. Practice "Leave No Trace".
