Rocher du Bez topo © Simnel
Rocher du Bez is a pleasant crag situated on the outskirts of the village of Villeneuve-la-Salle near Briancon. There are numerous single pitch routes at the the bottom of the crag which is East facing and shaded by trees. It's an excellent beginners crag with grades ranging from 3 - 5 but there are numerous multi pitch variations above ( 5 pitches usually at about Grade 4). The gear is good but on the easier grades there are generally longer runouts. There are also two Via Ferrata climbs, the most popular being Via Ferrata Rocher du Bez situated about 100m down from the main climbing area. There is also a Via ferrata on the left arete of the crag which is suitable for supervised children.
The buttresses and routes are listed here in the same order as the current guidebook - from the arrival point at the crag. On all buttresses the routes are listed RIGHT to LEFT.
Access is though the village of Villeneuve passing the the water park on a rough track which leads up left past an adventure park on the left, the via ferrata parking and notice board on the right and then there is parking on the left next to the crag.
