A small quarry on Brown Hill, Castleton Rigg. The quarry features a clean, smooth central wall of good quality sandstone which does not afford much gear. The quarry attains a height of around 7 metres and can be seen from the road below. The tops are somewhat heathery. Flat, but hard landings. Graded for padless solos.
Another pleasant addition to the Blakey Ridge circuit. Font grades added in comments.
Park in one of two good sized laybys on the Blakey Road around 1.5 miles out of Castleton, towards Blakey. 1 minute approach.
Worth a look for a quick hit or a morning boulder before going elsewhere. 1 min walk in and nice and secluded. Franco Cookson - 07/Apr/13 |
