From lakesbloc.com: "Settle Earth boulders provide an easy grade circuit in the beautiful setting of Longsleddale. The boulders are level with Buckbarrow crag on the opposite side of the gorge (west), approximately a 25 minute walk from the parking at Sadgill in Longlseddale.
Tim Fish and Andy Smith climbed and recorded these problems over the [non] summer of 2007 and Spring 2008.
People may have climbed up here before but no information was found - hence this small topo."
Good grassy landings, low grades, clean quick-drying rock, in shade in the evening.
Park at Sadgill (NY484057). Follow the track until Buckbarrow crag, cross the river and walk up to the boulders. Approx 35 minutes. On access land according to OS map.
A wonderful lowland circuit, clean and fast drying. Don't let the low grades put you off, some of the 5's pack a punch and there are lots of them! The Jacko Boulder takes drainage from its heather top so some lines stay damp. petegunn - 02/Dec/20 |
