This small area of boulders is located ~300 metres east of Maiden Rock, below the Fife Coastal Path. There are currently 3 main blocks, the Variation Wall, which offers problems up to V8/Font 7B, the Fish Boulder and the Wave Wall, There is the prospect for a couple of tough projects, although these would be very eliminate, as are most of the problems here. There are also a number of smaller blocks scattered amongst the main attractions. These offer a few reasonable shorter problems, mostly in the lower grades.
Currently, few problems have been given names, so feel free to develop names for the problems as you session there. The grades given are current estimates and may change as problems see more traffic
For those visiting from outside of St. Andrews, parking is available at the main car park along the East Sands/next to the Scottish Oceans Institute. From here, take the coastal path eastwards for about ~1km, passing the caravan park on your right. After going up a small set of steps, you should reach another set ~50m further on. At this point, take the lower coastal path towards and past Maiden Rock. Follow the pebbled beach until you reach the boulders.
The rock here is mainly made up of rather scrittly sandstone and can therfore be explosively soft when wet. It is best to avoid climbing here shortly after high to mid-tides, after wet weather, or when the rock appears damp.
