Probably the only place to climb in Yorkshire Wolds, St Austins Stone is a large boulder situated about 8 miles southwest of Beverley. The majority of the boulder is very overgrown and the rock is mainly of bad quality. Its probably only really worth going if you are a local climber who wants a quick evening boulder session.
There is roadside parking on the verge with room for one car, alternatively there is a lay-by 3/4 of a mile west down the road. To get to the boulder head down the track from the road and just after the bend follow a small footpath for 50m. Approach time is 2 minutes from road side or 20 minutes from lay-by.
