Crag features

This sector of the Arico gorge was bolted in December 2014 and is bolted specifically for beginners; the most difficult route is 6b+. Routes are currently in great condition, well bolted, with accurate (realistic) grading. Certain climbing lines have intentionally been left unbolted in order to offer a few trad-climbing cracks, perfect again for beginners. Most of these routes have bolted anchors.

Because the routes are new, some cleaning is still required. There are still some fairly large loose rocks. Most routes require a full 60m rope with a couple of longer climbs requiring a 70m although there were intermediate lower-off rings.

Approach notes

Current topo info and new route descriptions are available from the guys at Roxtore in Arico - http://www.roxtar.es/

A guidebook for Tamadaya is available (donation) from the Roxtore shop.

Not sure about realistic grading, grades were all over the place! And while some routes were well bolted, others were very spaced verging on dangerous.
