Bone Shaker © Jonny Tee 69

Crag features

Slabby walls and grooves. Good climbs in the S-VS range. Catches the afternoon sun. Birds nesting April to August on some routes.

Approach notes

Tidal. Best to abseil down Elbow Groove or scramble down steep grassy slopes.

The abseil is preferable - the steep grassy slopes can resemble a swamp at times.

Abseil off 2 bolt or a white rope around a block. Both set back a few meters from the edge.

Access Advice

29 Aug 21 - Sea birds have now fledged, old (smelly) nests remain but no birds on the crag.

Found one drilled hole and one bolt but with no hanger. good to abseil from bock.

The 2 bolts for abseil are still there, currently rather overgrown in the long grass, but seek and ye shall find - a few m left (facing in) from Elbow Groove, and about 5m back from the edge. Rope protector advised over the edge. Super crag.

Decent gear to ab in off can be found if you wander about on the grassy slab behind the top of Elbow Groove - there is a large but slightly loose thread we didn't use but enough nuts, cams and wires to be fine. Descent path still boggy but useable

There don't seem to be any bolts at the top of the climbs, or at the top of the supposed "normal abseil" down Elbow Groove. The only way down seemed to be some very steep path that's being overtaken by a bog. Nice climbing once you can get to it though.

Does anyone know the size of the bolts at the top of the crag?

The carcass of a seal was recently washed onto the stoney beach. Not a good place to bring along a picnic box.
