The walls of the castle are a useful non-tidal traversing location, and there are some fun vertical problems too. Toproping is possible at some points, but belays are scarce or well back - bottom-roping is probably easier in many instances. There is also a small quarried outcrop below the main slope up to the castle. Landings are normally flat but fairly hard.
Somewhat urban, so watch out for broken glass and the odd dog's egg.
Fantastic views over the north of the island and Big Russell channel.
Park at the carpark to the southeast below the castle and walk up to the crag in 2 minutes.
