Crag features

Quick drying crag but look out for loose rock. Some bolts and a few old pegs in place but not all are sound. Opposite the main wall, in the south-eastern part of the quarry, there`s an overhanging wall with a couple of routes and a few bouldering problems.

Glass has been thrown down the wall so climb with caution. The crag base and central area are absolutely covered in shards of glass and could do with a good tidy up. Don't take your kids or dog along with a plan for them to chill out at the bottom for this reason.

Approach notes

From vallis vale parking (google search finds this), take the obvious path opposite the car park and walk alongside the river. At the first sign of rockface on the right, dip in and over the "style". The area immediately on the right has some bolted parts. For the main crag, continue through and then drop down to the left and you will appear in a large central area that has what looks like an old lorry loading ramp in the centre.

Went yesterday and cleaned up the main wall, about 10 bags of rubbish and swept and shovelled as much of the glass as we could clear. Brushed and cleared the main face of glass leaving some nice clean holds for a fun send. Will be attending regularly to start clearing and reopening the walls down here as it really does have so much potential!

The most disgusting crag I've ever been to, lots of broken glass, cans and saw a few needles lying around near some of the climbs Didn't climb went home for a nice cuppa instead

Been visiting most weekends recently, cleaned all the glass off the main wall and removed a bit of vegetation. Starting to see a few more people down here again. It's a nice spot

Afternoon All, I was in the last weekend. There is now a substantial fence preventing access from below. Anyone know who owns the quarry? I'm willing to clean/tidy the place up if the end result is some safe cracking climbs.

A good little quarry with some worthwhile routes. The locals could do with having a clean up day though to keep ontop of the rubbish problem, both in the quarry and surrounding woodlands.
