A fine collection of significantly sized rhyolite boulders, situated in a tranquil and unspoilt riverside location.
The best of the boulders are located in very close proximity to one-another, making a bouldering visit uncomplicated and friendly. Great summer swimming adjacent to the bouldering.
The main boulder ‘The Holt’ provides a gently overhanging wall of good rock. Though it's vegetated top does mean that the lines seep after rain, so a visit during a dry-spell is best advised.
The riverside boulders provide many additional problems, left to explore.
Easily reached in 10-15 minutes on the footpaths that lead into the Gorge, taken from either the hamlet of Seathwiate or the parking at High Wallowbarrow farm. The main boulders are located on the same side of the river as the main footpath.
