Long time Yorkshire activists Matt Troilett and Mick Johnston have succeeded on a new line at Kilnsey. "Dead Calm" F8a, starts up Wyswyg moves right in to The Overlap then moves right again and climbs the wall with increasing difficulty.

Matt grabbed the first ascent, then hot on his heels was Mick, who snapped a hold on his first attempt and clipped the chain on his second.

Matt reported: "When Mick pulled a hold off he swore he was 'dead calm' and could have done it - hence the name..."

Both climbers are talented local activists and have a huge string of impressive first ascents and repeats to their name.
