Hard SL8, by Mark ReevesFriday Night Video

Climber, Coach and Photographer Mark Reeves has put together a short film titled Hard Sl8.

Mark has a photography article coming up on UKC next week, blending hard slate climbing with abstract images from the slate quarries - watch this space.

He has edited a short film about slate climbing, which he describes:

"All the footage was taken several years ago now, but includes an amazing solo by Neil Dyer of The Untouchables, a F8a arete. The edit isn't flawless, but I don't think it's too bad for an afternoon's work. I hope you enjoy!"

You can read more about Mark, his thoughts and his photography on his blog and on his coaching blog:

Featuring: James McHaffie, Pete Robins, Sam Underwood, Neil Dyer and Jack Geldard

Very enjoyable - thanks. So that's where The Untouchables goes. I always wondered - on a strictly armchair basis - how on earth it climbed that impossible upper arete. Now I know. jcm
