The route was originally graded F8a+, but has now settled to F8a. The endurance route is a huge roof on large tufa stalactites, and has 28 bolts. Emma was on the route for around two hours.
Earlier in her trip she also managed a stylish onsight of the classic and much photographed F7c Aegialis.
Neil Foster who witnessed Emma's Aegialis ascent commented:
"I watched Emma on sight Aegialis in the Grande Grotta on Wednesday, and it was extremely impressive. I had just failed on the route (though I did get pretty high up!) so I know first hand just how steep and strenuous it is!"
Emma has around a week left on the island and is apparently just getting in to the swing of things - good luck!
