VIDEO: Franco Cookson takes 20m Ground Fall

In this video we see UKC regular Franco Cookson attempt O'Gradey's Incurable Itch (E6 7a) without side runners.

The lack of side runner protection would bump up the E grade significantly on this route (E9 7a?).

Unfortunately Franco doesn't make a successful ascent and falls from near the top of the route, ripping two pegs and landing on the ground from circa 20m. He survives to post again on the UKC forums.

The UKC Logbook description:

22m. Climb the crack and then, after traversing for siderunners on the right (wires and RPs) move into the delightfully desperate crux sequence, up the wild headwall with no more protection. Upgraded in the new rockfax and after several roped inspections and consultation with the FA. © ROCKFAX

Franco - BE CAREFUL! And we are glad you are okay.
