Mountain Rescue Charity Box Thief Caught on CCTV

A Mountain Rescue charity box has been stolen from The Watermill at Ings, Lake District. Following the theft a staff member from the pub has posted this mobile phone video of the CCTV screen on playback:

The description of the video on Youtube is:

"Do you know this man. Stole our mountain rescue box from The Watermill Inn and Brewery in the Lake District 26/02/2013 obviously didn't notice we've got full CCTV he even stands by the cam... The police now have the full cctv version this is just a copy via my phone."

The theft follows several charity box crimes in the Lake District including another Mountain Rescue box being stolen from the Wetherspoons pub in Kendal back in January.

Unbelievable!!!! Can't understand the mentality of some people. If caught they should not prosecute but drop him off on a secluded summit with no map and minimal clothing with no support from MRT in bad weather and get him to make his own way off so he knows the consequences of his actions and the importance of mountain rescue.

Stupid man , would imagine he is pretty desperate but worthy of a good hard slap I'd say , imagine the shame he must feel or I hope he feels ? No sympathy though thats stooping pretty low . I'd rather go with out than stealing myself . Can see this being solved fairly quickly with that & other footage .

I agree that would be a fitting justice/punishment I think , better still make him do it in his birthday suit the toerag .

Utter shitebag. I'm generally not one to jump on the vigilante bandwagon, but I've made an exception,and posted this on Facebook. Hopefully it will get shared around. I hope he is caught.
