Video Seb Bouin on Rouhling's Unrepeated 9s
In the fourth episode of his Vintage Rock Tour, Seb Bouin takes on Fred Rouhling's trio of unrepeated 9s at Les Eaux Claires: Akira, Hugh and De L' Autre Côté du Ciel.
The next episode in Seb Bouin's Vintage Rock Tour Series follows him to Céüse, where he gets stuck into the Chris Sharma classic: Biographie (9a+). He climbed the route in June of this year and took him three weeks to complete.
Hi ascent featured as part of his mission to explore the history of climbing in France, on which he's already visited Buoux and the Verdon. In this episode, Bouin talks about the influence that Sharma's ascent of the iconic route had on him when he started climbing in 2004 and talks with Arnaud Petit and Sylvain Millet about the history of the crag.
Chris Sharma climbed the route in 2001 after attempting the route over several trips. His ascent has become one of the most influential first ascents in sport climbing, partially due to the difficulty at the time and partially due to the superb film of the climb.
