First 8c by Ricardo Vara

© UKC News
Mexican, Ricardo Vara has broken through a mental barrier and climbed Rodney Blakemore's The sick dimension, 8c, at Culo de gato, the hardest route in Mexico. Rodney made the FA, but since then, more than 10 key holds have broken, and it's now considerably harder than it used to be. Still 8c though, but really "solid" for the grade. We're talking 8a-ish climbing to an 8A-ish crux, followed by 8a+-ish climbing.
As far as I know this is the first ascent by a Mexican. I could be wrong though.
