Cliffhanger is a large outdoor event with a varied programme that includes mountain biking, skateboarding, bike polo, disc golf, caving, scuba diving, orienteering, assault courses, workshops, bars, marker stalls, outdoor retailers, an open dyno competition with a prize pot of £1,000 and loads more.
But perhaps most importantly, Cliffhanger is also hosting the Sheffield round of the 2011 Bouldering World Cup.
Will we see a British climber competing in the finals against the world's best and in front of a home crowd? It's certainly possible.
The Brits have had some good results in recent rounds of the world cup including a 6th place at Eindhoven by Dave Barrans.
Top climbers entered in to the competition in Sheffield include Daniel Woods from the USA, Anna Stoehr and Kilian Fischuber from Austria as well as the British Bouldering Team of course.
Cliffhanger organiser Matt Heason commented:
"Last week saw a 40m-round circus big-top marquee erected in Millhouses Park and the last few days have seen a frantic schedule of activity with scaffold teams, wall builders and route setters preparing the biggest bouldering wall on the planet for the occasion. Last year's event was heralded by the competitors as the best on the circuit, with covered viewing space, a superb atmosphere and, dare we say it, great weather.
If bouldering is not your thing, then there's plenty else going on. It takes a good ten minutes to walk the length of the park at the best of times, let alone when it is crammed full of things to do, see and buy. Last year some 20,000 people came along and the vast majority pledged that they would come again and recommend it to a friend."
