David Firnenburg has made a very fast repeat of Fred Nicole's Oliphant's dawn, ~8B+, at Riverside, Rocklands.

For David, it was the fourth of the grade, and according to his 8a-scorecard, he needed only 1,5h. He has also repeated The ViceMooiste Meisie and King of Limbs, all in the ~8B range.

Oliphant's dawn is the ultimate finger strength test and has only three moves. Until Nalle Hukkataival managed the first repeat in 2012, more than a decade after the first ascent, many speculated that it could be considerably harder than Fred's original 8B/C suggestion. Adam Ondra for example, said he couldn't even move from the ground when he tried it.

But as is so often the case, things tend to feel more possible after someone has proved they actually are, and after Nalle succeeded, it saw several ascents in short time.
