Once Upon a Time in HolyheadFri Night Vid

© David Linnett

UKC favourite David Linnett has released a new instalment of his infamous films and this time has taken a look at the classic route A Dream of White Horses (HVS 4c). The film focuses on his friend Andrew Walker who was in a life changing accident resulting in the loss of his arm.

David told UKC:

'Once Upon a Time in...Holyhead" features my friend and fellow Climbers Club member Andrew Walker who had a devastating and life changing motorbike accident over 12 years ago which resulted in the loss of his right arm, a load of metalwork in his legs, a long time spent in a wheelchair followed by years of rehabilitation. Remarkably Andrew returned to his great passion of rock climbing and here he revisits his favourite sea cliff, Gogarth near Holyhead in North Wales to attempt one of the greatest rock climbs in the UK called "A Dream of White Horses". Andrew is a larger than life character and has a very special relationship with a myriad of memories of Gogarth where he has climbed literally dozens of routes spanning decades of climbing at the White Cliff.'

A very well produced video David; professional quality I thought. And no dratted head-mounted or pole-mounted GoPro cameras in sight. Thank you for that. The drone shots were informative and lovely. The pacing of the various segments was terrific and the focus on Mr One_Arm superb. Nice music too. Congratulations.
