Fri Night Vid Road to Tokyo - The Qualifier Stories
With the Tokyo Olympics well underway and the climbing due to start next Tuesday, this week's Friday Night Video is an Olympic double-bill focusing on some of the stories from qualification.
This week's Friday Night Video takes us to Ha Long Bay, where Kyra Condie and Tim Emmett explore Vietnam's Deep Water Soloing. Tim was an early pioneer of Ha Long Bay, putting it on the map in the early 2000s when Big Up Productions made a film of him and Klem Loskot exploring the area.
In this film, Tim shows Kyra the ropes (or lack of) and tackles the fear of climbing high above the water, and then succeeds on one of the hardest deep water solos in Vietnam, the "Lightning Crack" graded 5.13.
