The bridge over Lingmell Beck at the head of Wasdale in the Lakes has been closed due to serious health and safety concerns. It is still deemed as safe for people walking over it. Until further notice the the Wasdale Lake Head Pay and Display car park on the far side of the bridge will be closed completely and any campers wanting to access the National Trust Wasdale Campsite can do this via the bridge on foot. The usual public car park at Wasdale Head remains open, as does the National Trust's Overbeck Car Park.
