Climbing at Langcliffe Quarry is once more under threat after the site was declared an Ancient Monument and protected by the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979. This may mean that climbing there is an offence. After a meeting with the National Park Office it has been agreed that climbers should be asked to avoid the place for the time being. Hopefully something can be sorted out soon especially since there has been a recent spate of new routing.
